The world has changed with a new version of the web. It allows people and students to use new skills available on the web to interact, collaborate and create. Information is shared instead of controlled.

Bloom's Taxonomy has changed, becoming more active with the creation of the Digital Generation. Learning is more project based. Constructivism building on what is already known to create new ideas.

New tools are available on the web. Blogs, wikis, podcasts, search engines, desktop tools, messaging, social networking.

Assumptions
- The district has set up firewalls that filters sites and these are adequate for security w/students.
- Some assume monitoring for instance that parents have taught them about internet safety
- Some underestimate the power of using online tools for all learners
- Everyone has equal access to technology
Agree
- Teachers need to take responsibility for teaching internet usage and safety
- Students need to learn to take responsibility for their own behavior when using internet tools
- Knowing your students accessibility to the internet away from school site
- All students should have equitable access to technology.
Argue
- Parents need to partner with schools to teach internet safety and responsibility
- Just because students have technology does not mean that they have the ability to use them effectively-

- To increase technology use in my classroom using 2.0 tools
